My Baby Shower

This post is also incredibly late but my awesome friends threw me a Baby Shower on May 16th and I'm not about to let it slip by my blog.  We had a delicious brunch with some of my favorite recipes including baked french toast and a sausage egg casserole that is to die for.  The decorations were beautiful, the cake adorable...but most importantly the company was amazing.  My family was already in town for Mia's birthday the day before and it meant the world to me to have them at my Baby Shower.  I had such a wonderful time and feel truly blessed to have such amazing friends and family in my life.

Mia's 4th Birthday

This post is so incredibly late since Mia's 4th birthday was almost 2 weeks ago...but I'm not going to hold back from putting my little girl in the spotlight.  :)

Mia was so incredibly excited for her birthday and even picked out her own cake.  It was my first attempt at making her birthday cake and although it was harder than I orginally thought, watching her face light up when she got her first glimpse was so unbelievably priceless.  I could kick myself for not getting a photo of that moment...but I did get this one, so it will have to do...(with her friends, Ansley & Luke)

We had a pool party at our community pool since the weather is already so hot in May and I'm pretty positive that fun was had by all!

Bad Blogger

I realize that I've been bad at blogging these past couple of weeks but belive me when I say that things have been a tad bit crazy. I'm really hoping that things will settle down a little bit before baby boy arrives. HA, HA, HA! Who am I kidding? Things are only going to get crazier...but a girl can hope, right?

Here's the cliff notes version to catch you all up...I've been very busy with the nursery - the transformation from pink to blue is complete. : ) Last Friday my "baby" girl turned four. FOUR!!! How can that be?!?!?? My amazing friends also threw me a baby shower on Sunday. So yeah, things have been a tad bit crazy with painting, decorating, party planning and party attending. But it's all been wonderful at the same so no complaints. I will update some more tomorrow with details and lots of pictures!

Sleeping Beauty Busts A Move

Mother's Day

I hate to brag but I really did have the most perfect Mother's Day.  Mia made my day by wishing me "Happy Mother's Day" first thing in the morning.  Our plans were to head to the beach for the day so we ate a quick breakfast and then packed up the car.  The weather was gorgeous - there wasn't a cloud in the sky and it was actually quite windy so we never broke a sweat or really got hot for that matter.  Mia had a ball making sand castles and collecting shells on the beach.  The ocean was still a little cold to go in but we did stand by the shore and let the waves crash at our feet.  I didn't take a ton of pictures since I was in relaxation mode but here are my two favorite ones...

After a wonderful day at the beach we headed home and started preparing my Mother's Day Feast - cheese fondue, salad and lobster tails.  It was so delish!  A special thanks goes out to my sweet little girl and my awesome hubby for making my day so special.

I jinxed myself

My Dr's office just called with the results of my GD screening - I failed - by 1 point.  1 freaking point!!!!  ARGHHHHHHHH!!  I can't believe it.  So now I have to take the 3 hour test.  And that's what I get for saying that I don't understand why people complain about the sugary drink.  :(

28 Week Appt Update

I had my 28 week appt last Thursday and thought I would give a little update.  All went well and I'm officially in the 3rd trimester now. Yay!  But I did manage to gain 4lbs in one month.  Boo!  (I'll blame that on the Easter candy.)  I wasn't happy about it at first, but it brings my total weight gain to 13lbs...which I think is pretty good so far.  I also had the gestational diabetes test done.  I honestly don't understand why people complain so badly about this test - the drink is really not that bad....but maybe that's because I like orange soda....who knows.  I should get the results back this week and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I get good news.  My Dr. said that I could start bi-weekly appointments now but she really didn't see a need for it...so I'm not scheduled for another appt until 32wks...which is fine by me!
